Working with
LUMINA® Technology

LUMINA® technology is recognised for its efficacy and safety in hair removal, making it a trusted option used by the NHS and aesthetic clinics worldwide.

Skin Rejuvenation

We utilise LUMINA® technology, with a proven safety record, to offer solutions for all visible signs of ageing caused by sun damage, including brown spots (pigmentation), redness (thread veins), uneven skin texture, lines, and wrinkles. It is also suitable for vascular lesions, skin tightening, and wrinkle reduction. This treatment can be used in combination with illumi-facial for enhanced results.

How Does Light-Assisted Skin Rejuvenation Work?

Pulses of light are emitted to target skin discolouration, creating a more youthful, even complexion. The light energy stimulates fibroblast cells, increasing the production of new collagen and elastin. This improves skin texture, smoothing out lumps and bumps while reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

What Does the Treatment Feel Like?

Treatment can be mildly uncomfortable, but no anaesthesia is required. Most people describe the discomfort as moderate and acceptable, similar to a quick pinprick, along with a warm sensation.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Visible results can be seen after just a few treatments. However, for optimal outcomes, a minimum of 3 to 6 sessions is recommended, depending on your skin concerns. Treatments are carried out every 4 to 6 weeks, with maintenance sessions typically needed once or twice a year.

Who Is Suitable for Treatment?

Acne

Combat inflammation, and reduce the severity and frequency of breakouts, whilst also diminishing redness and pigmentation.

How does the laser treatment work?

Light emitted directly targets the overactive sebaceous glands, greatly reducing the total number and severity of active lesions. This lessens infl ammation and the frequency of breakouts. The light stimulates the production of new collagen to improve skin texture and scarring and can also reduce the appearance of red or brown areas of skin that are often associated with acne breakouts.

Facial / Body Vessels

We can provide a great solution to facial concerns such as red flushing (rosacea), thread veins and red spots. Your skin tone will appear more even, healthier and brighter.

How does the treatment work?

Light energy is applied to the skin where it is readily absorbed by blood vessels, heating them to a point where they are destroyed. Following treatment, the vessels quickly clear as they are reabsorbed by the body, leaving little or no trace of the original lesion.

Tattoo Removal

Q-Switched Lasers are considered by dermatologists to be the most elective, safe and reliable way to remove unwanted multi-coloured tattoos with elective results.

How does the treatment work?

Q-Switched Lasers that generate a high powered beam of laser light in an extremely short pulse are the most suitable lasers for tattoo removal treatments. This very short pulse of high powered laser light is absorbed by the tattoo’s ink particles, breaking these down into smaller pieces, and enabling your natural immune defences to absorb the ink. Gradual fading of the tattoo occurs over a series of treatments.

What does a laser treatment feel like?

Most patients describe the sensation as similar to a hot pinprick or the flick of an elastic band. Whilst this is mildly uncomfortable, most people tolerate treatment well. A skin cooling device may be utilised to reduce any discomfort.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on several factors, including the density and colour of inks and the age of the tattoo. Amateur tattoos can be quick to remove, taking between 1 to 6 treatments. Professional tattoos vary considerably and some can take up to 15 treatments. Repeat treatments are spaced every 6-10 weeks. Generally, a course of treatments is required for optimum results. Fungal Nail

We use Lynton LUMINA® laser light to destroy fungus.

How does the laser work?

Light is absorbed by the water in the skin underneath and around the nail, creating heat. This heat helps to destroy the dermatophytes and eliminate the fungal infection. The laser applicator is placed on the nail and a short pulse of light is released. The entire nail bed and nail matrix is then treated in this way.

What does a laser treatment feel like?

A warm sensation and some discomfort are felt during treatment. However, a skin cooling device can be used to make treatment as comfortable as possible.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of treatments required varies, although typically 3-6 treatments are needed for optimum results. These results become apparent as the nail grows out. Due to the slow rate of toenail growth it may take several months for the results to be seen.
